Cut-Resistant Tread Compound. The B F Goodrich Cross Control deploys a high tear-strength, cut- and chip-resistant cap compound reinforced with optimised carbon black dispersion and advanced polymer cross-link density to resist chunking on scoria, river metal and construction rubble; by tuning hysteresis and heat build-up in the cap/base, the tread maintains edge acuity under torque loading and braking, reducing crack initiation at the lug base and mitigating tear propagation, which extends tread life in mixed service and improves cost-per-kilometre for fleets operating both on- and off-road.

Reinforced Sidewall Protection. A heavy-gauge sidewall with a robust buttress design, high-tensile steel chafer and extended ply turn-up over a firm bead apex delivers superior impact and kerbing resistance; this architecture spreads contact stresses away from the bead bundle, shields body cords from abrasion and puncture, and enhances lateral stiffness to stabilise the contact patch on cambered rural roads, protecting the casing for more retread cycles and reducing downtime from sidewall damage.

Stone Ejector Grooves. Raised, ramped ejector elements at the groove base interrupt stone retention and disrupt drilling vectors before they reach belt depth; variable-step geometry and tapered groove flanks promote continual debris purging at low rotation speeds, maintaining open voids for traction while preventing steel belt perforation and corrosion, which preserves casing integrity, keeps wear patterns uniform, and protects salvage value for retreading.

Deep Open Tread. A high-void, interlocking lug layout with staggered shoulders and stabilising tie-bars delivers aggressive bite in clay, gravel and forestry skid sites while controlling block squirm on sealed roads; wide evacuation channels and self-cleaning shoulders quickly shed mud to keep edges working, and the optimised footprint pressure distribution minimises heel-and-toe wear, so traction stays consistent across the tyre’s service life with predictable steering and braking in mixed terrain.

Retread Ready Steel Casing. A full-width, high-tensile steel belt package over a durable body ply with oxidation-resistant skim compounds and a cool-running inner liner forms a stable, repairable platform engineered for multiple retreads; bead geometry with a reinforced apex limits flex-induced heat at the lower sidewall, reducing ply fatigue and maintaining roundness for precise curing, enabling fleets to extend casing life, lower whole-of-life tyre costs, and maximise uptime across demanding New Zealand routes.
